Terms of Service

These terms cover the free GreenScore WP plugin, the GreenScore WP service it connects to, the paid Expert Fix and the Expert Access add-on, and this website. They are written to be read. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. "GreenScore WP", "we", "us" and "our" mean the service and the team that runs it.

1. The free plugin

• The plugin is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, study, change and share it under that licence.
• It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as the GPL says. We work hard to make it safe: it saves a backup before every fix, tests your pages after each fix and undoes a fix that breaks a page. But no tool can foresee every site, so keep your own regular backups of your site.
• PageSpeed scores come from Google and change between runs. We don't promise any particular score.

2. The speed check service

• The plugin uses our service to run Google PageSpeed Insights and to write explanations. Use it only for sites you own or manage.
• The service has fair-use daily limits per site and per connection. Don't try to get around them, overload the service, or use it to test sites that aren't yours.
• The service is free. We may change it, limit it or stop it. If we stop it, we will say so on this website first when we can.

3. Expert Fix

• Scope. One Expert Fix covers one problem on one site, for $100, paid once. Our speed engineers work on the problem you described in your request.
• Delivery. We do the work through the Expert Access add-on, within the 14-day access window that starts when you click "Allow expert access". You decide when to open access and can switch it off any time. If you switch it off before the work is done, we may not be able to finish.
• Your part. Tell us about the problem honestly, keep your site online while access is on, and let us know about anything on the site we should not touch.
• What we won't do. We don't ask for passwords, we don't change other users' accounts, and we don't touch customer data such as orders and form entries.
• Payment. Payment is handled by Gumroad, under Gumroad's terms. Prices are in US dollars. Gumroad may add taxes where they apply.
• Refunds. Refunds follow Gumroad's refund policy. If you are unhappy with an Expert Fix, contact us and we will look at it with you.

4. The Expert Access add-on

The add-on is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. It lets our speed engineers send signed commands to your site while access is open. Every command is logged on your site and every change is saved first so it can be undone. You can switch access off at any time, and it closes by itself after 14 days.

5. Your site and your responsibility

• You confirm you have the right to install plugins on the site and to let us work on it.
• You stay responsible for your site, its content, its other plugins and your own backups.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for anything to do with GreenScore WP, the service, Expert Fix or this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the Expert Fix the claim is about. For the free plugin and the free service, that amount is zero. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, sales or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date. An Expert Fix you already paid for stays under the terms that applied when you paid.
