Questions and answers

Is it safe?

Yes, and it is built to stay that way. Before every fix the plugin saves a backup. After each fix it loads your homepage, your protected pages (booking, checkout, cart and form pages, found automatically) and any pages you chose, the way a visitor would. If a page stops loading, shows an error, or loses a form or booking widget, the fix is undone at once.

Fixes only change how pages are sent to visitors. They never edit your posts, theme files, original images or other plugins' files, and logged-in editors always see the page as it is.

What if something breaks?

Most breakage is caught by the automatic test and undone before you notice. If a page still looks wrong:

  • Click Something broke? Restore the last backup at the top of the plugin page. It works even if the page's buttons do not.
  • Or open the Backups tab and restore any backup, including Original site, which has every fix off and is never deleted.
  • Can't reach the dashboard? Add define( 'MMSS_SAFE_MODE', true ); to wp-config.php. No fix runs for visitors while it is there.

Deleting the plugin undoes every fix and removes everything it stored.

Does it work with my cache plugin?

Yes, it works alongside it. The plugin detects active page cache plugins such as WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache. If another page cache is active, the GreenScore WP page cache stays off and the other fixes work as usual.

If you install a cache plugin later, turn the GreenScore WP page cache off (click Undo next to it) so only one cache serves your pages.

What data is sent?

Nothing is sent before you click Check page speed. Then the plugin sends only what the check needs:

  • Your homepage address, WordPress version and plugin version, to connect your site.
  • Your homepage address for each check. Our service asks Google PageSpeed Insights to test it and returns the scores and findings.
  • After each check: the scores, the list of problems found and a few setup facts (page builder, theme, cache plugin, WooCommerce yes or no, number of protected pages). Our service sends the list of problems to Anthropic's Claude to write the explanations. No page content and no personal data.

Expert help requests also send your email, your description of the problem, the page and, if you leave it ticked, a diagnostic report. Never passwords. The Privacy Policy has the full list.

Why is my score different from Google's own PageSpeed page?

Both come from Google PageSpeed Insights, but every run is a fresh test on Google's side. Network conditions, ads and other outside scripts change from run to run, so scores move a few points between runs, even when you test twice in a row on Google's own page.

Look at the trend across several checks rather than one number. The plugin keeps a history of your recent checks for this.

Does it work with Elementor and WooCommerce?

Elementor: yes. One fix switches on Elementor's own speed settings (only when Elementor is active), and logged-in editors always see pages without fixes, so the builder works on the original. Deactivating the plugin puts Elementor's settings back as they were.

WooCommerce: yes. Cart, checkout and account pages are found automatically. They are never optimized, never cached, and tested after every fix. Visitors with a cart are always served a fresh page.

How does Expert Access work?

Expert Access is a small add-on for Expert Fix customers. After you pay, you install it from your receipt and click Allow expert access. Our speed engineers can then work on your site for 14 days.

  • You can switch access off any time from Tools → Expert Access.
  • Every command is signed with a key only our engineers hold, and logged on your site: when, what, and the result.
  • Before any change, the add-on saves what it is about to change, so every change can be undone.
  • No passwords are shared. The add-on never runs code sent to it, never uploads or edits files, and leaves out passwords, keys and customer data such as orders and form entries.
  • Access closes by itself after 14 days, when the work is marked done, or when you deactivate the add-on.

Is the plugin really free?

Yes. The plugin and its 12 one-click fixes are free under the GPL. The only paid service is the optional Expert Fix, $100 per problem.

Can it check a local or staging site?

No. Google can only test pages that are open to the internet.

What happens when I deactivate or delete it?

Deactivating puts Elementor's settings back as they were; the other fixes stop by themselves. When you activate the plugin again, it offers to turn your fixes back on. Deleting the plugin undoes every fix and removes everything it stored.
